Combining their passion for great cooking, spices and their love of wine, Vijay and Nuno created Indian Grape Charmer.
While working together, British-born Vijay who has Indian heritage and Nuno who is Portuguese-born, came up with the idea of combining their fond interests, of brilliant Portuguese wine which can accompany a variety of traditional Indian dishes, to give you a match made in heaven.
Vijay and Nuno spent many an hour trial and testing different Portuguese wine varieties until they finally found their star grapes. Pairing the perfect blend of Tempranillo (Aragonés), Fernão Pires, Trincadeira and Alicante Bouchet grape varieties to bring to you a red, white and rosé wine, which they’re sure you’ll love as much as they do.
The Luso-Indian heritage is a product of the explorative nature that led to Portugal and India’s intertwining.
Despite the muddy colonial past, the Portuguese left their mark in more positive ways.
One such example is the introduction of spices, which nowadays is so prevalent throughout Indian cuisine.
And so, To embrace the union of these two wonderful cultures, we're happy to bring you a range of wines that have been produced in Portugal but pair brilliantly with the complexity of Indian cuisine.
